Ashok is a victim of (his own) stupidity. That is not his real name however, as we wish to protect his identity for fear of trolling by mean people.
Ashok, a first year B.Com student at a well known college in South Baiganpally area and the opening batsman of the Mangoville Under 19-Over 18 cricket team was riding pillion with his girlfriend Saloni Dharamdas Vithaldas Mehta and tried to click a selfie when his selfie stick poked a stray buffalo, causing it to lose temper. The buffalo, already frustrated with rising heat and humidity of Baiganpally and miffed at step motherly treatment because of its skin color could not take it any more and head butted the purple colored Activa. While Ashok landed in a nearby sewer, Saloni narrowly missed being overrun by her own father’s car that had been spying on the couple.
Passersby quickly uploaded the proceedings on Youtube and the video went viral in just an hour. Ashok has been receiving death threats from the Baiganpally Live & Let Live Society for promoting dangerous behaviour. His father Shyam (name changed), a one legged 65 year old vintage car restorer with a workshop in Nallapur was distraught with the media circus around his house, despite all attempts to protect their identity. A gentleman who goes by the rather short title of ‘The Honorable Minister of State for Prevention of Social Media Trolling and Promotion of Virtuous Behaviour Among Youth” was seen at Ashok’s Adarsh Nagar residence opposite a famous pav bhaji shop and promised justice for Ashok and his family. The family clicked selfies with the honorable minister and thanked him on facebook for taking up their cause.
